PureSpelt rhubarb-strawberry open sandwiches
to serve 4
Sandwich base
8-12 slices of PureSpelt plaited bread
A few flakes of butter
3-4 tablespoons of sugar
A little cinnamon according to taste
Rhubarb-strawberry compote
300 g rhubarb, prepared, cleaned and cut into slices
100 g of sugar
1 orange, grated peel and a little juice
Approx. 300 g of strawberries, prepared, cleaned and cut into slices

Open sandwich base: Lay the PureSpelt plaited bread slices on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Distribute the flakes of butter, sugar and cinnamon equally over the slices. Toast for 8-12 minutes in the middle of an oven preheated to 210°C.

Compote: Cook the rhubarb, sugar, grated orange peel and orange juice to form a compote, allow to cool slightly and stir in the strawberries.

Lay the toasted slices of bread onto the plates and distribute the compote equally over the slices.
Suggestion
Serve with fluffy whipped cream or vanilla quark according to taste.
